Crisis Intervention
The Crisis Intervention Program of Orpe Human Rights Advocates embodies the organization’s mission of championing dignity, compassion, and justice for individuals and communities harmed by crime and crisis. This program operates as a dynamic, multi-sectoral framework designed to deliver rapid humanitarian relief, provide legal and psychosocial support, and foster long-term community resilience in the face of disasters, violence, and systemic injustices.

At its core, the program integrates nine operational components that ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to crises. These components include Crisis Response and Rapid Relief, Victim Advocacy and Protection, Crisis Counseling and Trauma Healing, Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction, Humanitarian Logistics and Coordination, Legal and Policy Response, Capacity Building for First Responders, Community Resilience and Reintegration, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). Together, they form a seamless continuum of intervention, moving from emergency relief to recovery, empowerment, and structural transformation.

Each operational component is built upon OHRA’s faith-driven, human-centered principles: restoring dignity, promoting compassion, advancing justice, and ensuring inclusion without discrimination. Field operations emphasize rapid response, trauma-informed care, and coordinated partnerships with governments, humanitarian agencies, legal institutions, and faith-based organizations.

Through this integrated approach, OHRA delivers immediate relief, such as food, shelter, and medical care, while simultaneously addressing systemic causes of vulnerability through legal aid, policy advocacy, and capacity development. The inclusion of psychosocial and spiritual healing further reinforces the organization’s belief that recovery must encompass both material and emotional well-being.

Ultimately, OHRA’s Crisis Intervention Program is not only a humanitarian initiative, but also a transformational framework that empowers survivors, strengthens communities, and builds sustainable systems of justice and resilience across Sub-Saharan Africa. By combining compassion with accountability and faith with action, OHRA ensures that every crisis response becomes a pathway toward renewed dignity and lasting peace.
