ORPE is committed to addressing the root causes of poverty by equipping individuals with the tools and opportunities necessary for long-term self-sufficiency. Our approach combines education, vocational training, technical skills development, and leadership training to ensure that participants not only find stable employment but also grow as community leaders.

Program Outcomes Include:
-
Increased access to education and certification programs.
-
Job placement and career advancement through vocational and technical training.
-
Development of leadership skills that foster resilience, civic engagement, and community transformation.

By supporting this initiative, partners and foundations help reduce poverty, restore dignity, and empower individuals to create sustainable futures for themselves and their families. Together, we can transform cycles of poverty into cycles of opportunity.
We invite you to invest in dignity, education, and empowerment; because when people thrive, communities flourish.

Advancing Health Equity for All
Together, let us be instruments of grace, champions of justice, and bearers of hope. In restoring hope to others, we illuminate the path to a brighter, more compassionate world
Orpe Human Rights Advocates is committed to building a future where health is not determined by race, income, or geography. Despite advances in medicine and public health, systemic inequities continue to prevent many individuals and families from accessing the care they need.

Our programs are designed to eliminate these barriers by:
-
Connecting underserved communities with affordable, quality health care.
-
Providing education and outreach on preventive health and wellness.
-
Advocating for policies that advance health justice and equity.
-
Partnering with local organizations to expand access to life-saving resources.

Impact: By advancing health equity, we reduce disparities, improve community well-being, and restore dignity for those too often left behind.

We invite partners and funders to invest in this critical work. Together, we can transform inequity into opportunity and ensure that every person has the right to live a healthy, dignified life.

Justice for All, Not Just for Those Who Can Afford It
Thousands of Maryland families face eviction, wage theft, or denial of benefits, without a lawyer to defend them
Orpe is dedicated to advancing justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to low-income individuals and families across Maryland. For too many, legal barriers perpetuate cycles of poverty, whether through eviction, denial of benefits, wage theft, or discrimination. Without access to legal counsel, vulnerable people remain voiceless and unprotected.

Our programs deliver measurable impact:
-
Preventing homelessness through eviction defense and housing advocacy.
-
Securing vital benefits such as food assistance, unemployment insurance, and health coverage.
-
Protecting workers from exploitation and wage theft.
-
Ensuring equal treatment under the law regardless of income or status.

With strategic investment, we can expand access to justice and build stronger, fairer communities. We invite partners and funders to join us in ensuring that justice is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.

Housing: A Human Right and Sacred Responsibility
Let us rise together, inspired by faith and driven by action, to create a world where every family has access to a home that nurtures hope, health, and the promise of a brighter future.
Housing is more than a right; it is a sacred trust.
In our nation, too many of our neighbors are forced to sleep in shelters, cars, or on the streets, simply because safe, stable housing is out of reach. We believe that housing is not a privilege, but a human right and a sacred responsibility shared by all of us.

Every person deserves the dignity of a home. When families have a safe place to live, children can thrive in school, adults can find and keep jobs, and seniors can live with security and peace. Yet, every day, countless Marylanders struggle to survive without this basic foundation.

At ORPE, we are working to end homelessness by:
-
Expanding access to affordable housing.
-
Providing legal advocacy and case management for vulnerable families.
-
Connecting individuals to employment, health care, and life-sustaining benefits.
-
Partnering with communities of faith and conscience to uphold the moral call to shelter our neighbors.

But we cannot do this work alone. We need your support to build a Maryland where no one is left without a home.

Help Us Bring Justice and Stability to Most Vulnerable
Together, we are not just witnesses to change; we are its creators.
For many low-income and homeless, the greatest challenge isn’t only poverty, it’s navigating a complex system they don’t understand. Every day, people go without food, shelter, and medical care, not because they aren’t eligible for help, but because they don’t know where to turn.

That’s where we come in. Our legal aid team helps clients access the benefits that sustain life: food stamps, Social Security, unemployment insurance, and rent assistance. These aren’t handouts; they are rights. And when people receive them, families stay housed, children are fed, and communities are stronger.

But we can’t do this work alone. Your support makes the difference between a family facing eviction and one that has a roof over their heads. Between a child going to bed hungry and a child nourished with dignity.

Together, we can ensure that no Marylander has to face hunger or homelessness because of red tape.

Empowering the Brave: A Mission of Justice and Grace
Let us be the hands of justice, the voice of encouragement, and the light of love for those who bravely persevere.
Stand with Veterans: Honor Their Service, Support Their Future
At ORPE, we hold infinite respect for the men and women who have stood at the forefront of our armed forces. These veterans have sacrificed so much in service to our nation. Now, it is our sacred duty to stand with them as they return home.

Reintegrating into everyday life is not easy. Many service members and their families face overwhelming challenges, finding stable housing, securing employment, and adjusting to civilian life. No veteran should have to fight these battles alone.

That is why we are committed to:
-
Encouraging car donations for veterans, providing them with reliable transportation.
-
Offering housing assistance, ensuring they have a safe place to call home.
-
Providing job search programs, giving them the tools to rebuild their lives and provide for their families.

With your support, we can help veterans reclaim stability, dignity, and hope. Your help today is more than charity; it is a way of honoring those who have already given so much. Together, we can make sure every veteran has the opportunity to thrive in the country they served to protect.
